MW #1 – American River Rafting Adventure -

We regret to report that this trip has been
cancelled due to hazardous river conditions.
Enjoy a self-guided tour down the American River Parkway. This class
II river flows through a portion of the scenic 23-mile long American
River Parkway. Pass through the thrilling San Juan rapids and spend the
rest of the day floating and swimming down the river. Our rafting trip
includes transportation from the hotel, rafting equipment, and ice cold
beverages. A tasty lunch will be waiting for you at our final shady
destination. Transportation back to the hotel will also be provided.
MW #2 – Betts-Kismat-Silva Habitat Preserve
Walking Tour
Monday, May 23 • 9:00 am to
12:00 noon
The 338-acre Betts-Kismat-Silva (BKS) property is the Natomas Basin
Conservancy’s first habitat preserve and has been restored to provide
habitat for giant garter snakes, Swainson's hawks, and other species
covered by the Natomas Basin Habitat Conservation Plan. Although still
in its adolescence, the site supports several breeding pairs of
burrowing owls, a colony of tricolored blackbirds, and is heavily
utilized by waterfowl and raptors. Tour the site with staff from
Wildlands, Inc. Transportation provided.
MW #3 – A Day at the Capitol
Monday, May 23 • 9:00 am to
12:00 noon
Take a walking tour of the State’s Capitol and visit the State
Assembly and Senate chambers. A variety of speakers will also be on hand
to answer questions regarding the legislative process and other topics
of interest. The tour will be hosted by AEP’s legislative lobbyist,
Allan Lind.
